The work features dynamic red brushstrokes – a strongly symbolic color that stands for courage, protection and luck. It emphasizes the Bunnyman as a bold, powerful guardian who wards off evil spirits. The contrast with the black also reveals the duality of the figure, described by Johnny as “a terrifying vision and inseparable friend”.

“This character means a lot to me,” explains Johnny. “It came from a recurring dream I had when I was five or six years old. I went to the door of the basement of our house in Kentucky, and when I opened it, I saw a faceless figure standing on the landing at the top of the stairs. He had features, almost like a mannequin, and was made of a membrane containing many small grains of sand in different colors. They flowed through his body in an abstract way.”
