This work is an extremely dynamic and expressive acrylic painting.
The title “In Invicem” – Latin for “mutual”, “to each other” or “reciprocal” – offers a central key to interpretation.

The picture carries an enormous emotional intensity. The direct confrontation of the two red heads conveys a tense, almost explosive or passionate interaction – an interplay of attraction and repulsion. The clear symmetry and stark contrast of the red and black forms against the cool blue heighten the sense of duality and confrontation. The painting could reflect the complex nature of human relationships – the interplay of love and hate or the interdependence of two powerful, almost demonic or animalistic personalities.

Its effect is as fascinating as it is disturbing – an image that will not let go of the viewer.
